Antalya city guide
Where to stay in Antalya
Choose between Kaleici's historic lanes, Konyaalti's public beach, urban Lara and the eastern resort strip, with Belek and Kemer kept as separate regional options.

Plan your visit
Antalya's accommodation labels cover very different holidays. A guesthouse beside Kaleici's lanes lets you step out for a historic walk; a Kundu resort makes its own beach and dining the center of the day. Konyaalti is a useful middle ground for public-beach time and city outings. Urban Lara, meanwhile, is not automatically the sandy resort frontage advertised under the same name. Start with the places you intend to spend time, then examine the actual hotel position. Belek and Kemer belong in the comparison as regional alternatives, not as quarters of central Antalya.
Choose your base
Choose Kaleici for heritage and street dining, Konyaalti for a public beach with city connections, or urban Lara for cliff-side walks. Kundu's resort strip is a beach-first choice. Belek makes most sense when golf or a resort is the destination; Kemer favors its own marina, coast and mountain setting. Those last two involve regional road travel for Antalya sightseeing.
Kaleici: historic walks and independent dining

Kaleici suits a stay in which the city begins outside your door. Hadrian's Gate, Yivli Minaret and the old marina provide a natural walking circuit, while cafes, restaurants and small shops occupy the historic streets between them. Hidirlik Tower and Karaalioglu Park extend the route along the coastal edge. This is a stronger fit for short heritage-focused trips than a resort far along the beach strip, particularly when you want to choose dinner after an evening walk rather than return to a hotel dining room.
The trade-off is the approach to the building. Streets near the marina descend from the city-facing edge, and an atmospheric inner-lane address can be less convenient with luggage than a hotel near the entrances. Central tram and bus connections serve the wider city, but the final walk is separate. From the airport, check the current AntRay or bus itinerary and where you will leave it. Choose Konyaalti or Kundu instead if a broad beach, pool facilities and beach-first days matter more than the historic setting.
Plan it well: The map marks Kaleici itself. Check the actual vehicle drop-off and uphill return from a marina-side hotel.
Antalya Governorate: KaleiciKonyaalti: a public beach with city outings

Konyaalti offers an extended public waterfront rather than a small historic quarter. Stay here when a beach walk, a meal near the shore and time by the sea are ordinary parts of the day, but you still want to explore Antalya independently. The municipal beach setting and food facilities make it a different proposition from an enclosed resort. At the eastern city-facing end, the museum area is a possible outing; a hotel farther west should not be chosen on the assumption that the museum and old town are immediately beside it.
The length of the frontage is the main practical trade-off. Select a particular hotel and beach access point, then examine the route to nearby meals and the city bus connection in Antalyakart. Antalya Ulasim names Muze as the nostalgia tram's museum-side terminus; that is not rail along every section of the beach. Airport-to-city transport requires an onward leg to the actual address. Kaleici is the better choice for repeated heritage walks without transport, while a resort in Kundu is more suitable when on-property facilities are the priority.
Plan it well: The pin and photograph show Konyaalti Beach, not a particular hotel or its beach facilities.
Antalya municipality: beaches and baysUrban Lara: cliff-side walks and a city setting

The urban Lara coast is a useful choice for travelers who want sea-facing walks and city services rather than a holiday organized around a resort compound. Lower Duden, where the river falls from the cliffs into the sea, gives this side of Antalya a distinctive landscape. Municipal beach platforms and coastal facilities provide places to investigate individually, while meals are chosen in the surrounding city rather than automatically within an all-inclusive package. The hotel's real street address matters: the name Lara is also used for the sandy resort coast farther east.
A cliff-side view does not establish a walk-out sandy beach. Check the specific route to the water and which facilities are operating before choosing a room for swimming access. Use Antalyakart to check buses between this urban coast and central Antalya; the rail map does not provide a beach-side station for this catchment. Airport access is likewise an address-specific road or bus journey, not a guaranteed short transfer. Choose Konyaalti for a more explicit public-beach base, or Kundu when the resort's own beach and facilities are the point of the trip.
Plan it well: The map and image show Lower Duden's coastal cascade. They do not mark a hotel, the inland waterfall or Kundu's resort frontage.
Muratpasa municipality: urban beachesLara Beach / Kundu: a resort-first holiday
Choose the eastern Lara Beach and Kundu strip when the hotel is a substantial part of the holiday. This is the resort setting described in Antalya's official tourism material, distinct from the urban cliffs around Lower Duden. The sandy coast and resort dining suit days organized around the property, with central Antalya as an outing rather than the starting point each morning. Check the particular accommodation's beach access and meal arrangements: the district name alone does not establish what is included or which facilities your room can use.
The trade-off is spontaneity away from the resort. Separate compounds and their distance from the main road can affect how easily you reach a bus stop or dine elsewhere. AntRay's airport connection is not a service to these beach hotels; check Antalyakart or an arranged road transfer for the actual address. The map marks Lara's public-beach side, not an individual Kundu resort. Kaleici is more natural for historic-city evenings, while Konyaalti provides a different public-waterfront setting for an independently planned stay.
Plan it well: The pin is the verified Lara beach point at the western side of this broader coast. It is not a Kundu hotel entrance or a district boundary.
Antalya provincial tourism: eastern beachesBelek: golf and a regional resort base

Belek belongs in an Antalya-area stay comparison because golf and the resort itself can be the reason for traveling. Provincial tourism identifies it as a golf center in Serik, and the destination's resort offer combines beach access, hotel dining and sports facilities. Choose the actual course and accommodation together rather than treating every Belek address as interchangeable. A town-side room and a coastal compound can provide very different walking access to meals, the sea and your booked activities. Aspendos is a regional excursion, not a monument inside the hotel neighborhood.
This is not a central Antalya quarter. Road travel connects the resorts, courses and airport, and repeated Kaleici visits require a separate regional journey. Check a proposed transfer or regional service for your flight and hotel instead of assuming the urban tram reaches Belek. The convenience gained for a golf or resort itinerary can be lost on a short heritage-focused city break. Choose Kaleici or Konyaalti when central Antalya is the daily destination; choose Belek when you intend to spend meaningful time at the resort or course.
Plan it well: The pin marks Belek settlement, not a golf clubhouse or resort gate. Keep the regional journey separate from the Antalya city hotel search.
Antalya provincial tourism: golf and sportKemer center: marina evenings and mountain scenery

Kemer center is a different regional choice: its marina, Ayisigi beach and park, and Liman Caddesi give a coastal-town stay its own walking destinations. Cafes and restaurants provide an alternative to spending every evening within a resort. The mountain backdrop and opportunities for coastal outings matter more here than immediate access to Antalya's heritage core. Choose a genuinely central address if the marina and street dining are part of the plan. Beldibi, Goynuk, Kiris and Tekirova are separate resort locations that can also appear under a broad Kemer label.
Antalya sightseeing and airport arrival need onward road travel; the city's rail map is not a direct connection to a Kemer hotel. The tourism transport page describes regional access, but its published duration and ferry details should not be treated as current operator guarantees. Phaselis and mountain activities are also outings beyond the town, not sights outside every hotel's door. Kaleici is the more efficient base for a short Antalya city visit. Kemer makes sense when you want to spend the holiday on this stretch of coast rather than commute back each day.
Plan it well: The pin marks Kemer town. Confirm that a hotel sold as Kemer is in the center rather than another resort settlement.

Separate the city connection from the hotel approach
The airport describes city buses and AntRay connections. Match these to the actual terminal and hotel address; a city stop still leaves a final journey to the marina, beach or resort.
Antalya Airport: public transportCheck live routes and rail notices
Use the current Antalyakart itinerary and operator notices. The rail homepage retains dated disruption information, so neither uninterrupted service nor an ongoing October outage should be assumed from an old notice.
Antalya Ulasim: services and noticesKeep regional transfers explicit
Belek and Kemer need their own onward travel arrangements. Ask for the exact destination and return connection; urban Antalya transit does not establish hotel-door regional service.
