Aibga Hotel

The hotel is in the center of Novaya Gagra, only five minutes from the sea, with attractive, well-kept grounds, a private pool, and friendly receptionists. Those were the good parts of our late-August stay. Sleeping was difficult because the mattress and pillow were terribly uncomfortable. We asked for replacements, but nothing was changed. Housekeeping only removed trash daily, while a full cleaning happened every four days, which wasn't enough. Breakfast also became boring quickly: porridge, omelet or casserole, cereal with milk, pancakes, sausage and cheese, cookies, and salad. Ants came in from the balcony.

We're staying here now and are happy so far. The room is clean, the breakfasts are good, and lunch and dinner are available if you want them, although the choice is limited, and you shouldn't order the pizza. The staff are friendly. The pool is small but excellent and clean. Around the grounds there are loungers, a small atmospheric waterfall, and a ping-pong table. Kids can use the various shovels, buckets, and other activities. The sea is a relaxed five-minute walk away, with a shop, cafe, pharmacy, and cafeterias nearby.

Breakfast was included and turned out to be delicious. There was porridge, an omelet or cottage cheese pudding, plus pancakes or fritters. This is a quiet family-run hotel with tidy grounds and a swimming pool. Our clean room had beautiful mountain views, and there was also a dining room.

We stayed at the beginning of September 2022, and I regret the money spent. The Soviet-style renovation could perhaps be excused because it seems common there, but parts of the wallpaper were missing. The bathroom was covered in streaks and mold. There was no real cleaning at all. When we asked about it, they offered a “general cleaning,” which ended up meaning only fresh towels. There was no kettle in the two-room suite, and they wouldn't provide one. The food was awful and the dishes were dirty. Reviews mentioned delicious breakfasts, but what we saw was sliced sausage, cheese, cookies, and one cottage cheese casserole. Wi-Fi worked only near the reception desk, not in the room. Read the reviews carefully, some seem to repeat themselves and may be written by the hotel.
