Citrus Hotel

The hotel may be new, but it doesn't feel maintained. The bathroom has a terrible smell that spreads through the whole room, the plumbing is half-dead, and the ventilation doesn't work properly. Breakfast is meager but edible, while the instant coffee and the expensive solid coffee are both disappointing. There is no soul here, and I have no desire to return. Just stay for a couple of days.

The sea is only a 5-7-minute walk away, with the tasty Amore restaurant nearby and Brioche café as a nice sunset spot. The hotel itself is fairly new, bright, well furnished, and in good condition. Our room had panoramic windows, a big mountain-facing balcony, comfortable mattresses and pillows, and useful extras like robes, slippers, a hairdryer, kettle, cups, and two bottles of water. The refrigerator barely cools anything, though, so it would be useless in summer. Breakfast is buffet-style with porridge, scrambled eggs or omelets, sausages, syrniki, potato pancakes, fruit, and a few sweets. The bar makes Eastern-style coffee, not machine coffee. In April there were already many guests, so breakfast felt crowded. Soundproofing is only average, and we could hear the neighbors, so we slept with earplugs. Trains pass close by a couple of times, but not at night. The area around the hotel looks somewhat rundown, although it didn't disturb our rest. There is an elevator and a small parking area, but parking may be difficult in peak season. We didn't try the pool because the weather was chilly. Highly recommended.

We spent the New Year's holidays here and celebrated New Year's Eve 2022. Citrus Hotel in Gagra is a new hotel, opened in 2021, and everything felt clean and comfortable from floor to floor. The rooms were fully functional, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the robes and towels were new. The heated rooftop pool and sauna have stunning views over the sea and mountains. Breakfast included a well-stocked buffet and oriental coffee. The location is quiet, at the entrance to Gagra, and the sea is about a five-minute walk away. The staff were warm, helpful, and quick to sort out any problems. They made us feel at home. We fell in love with the hotel and will definitely return.

The heated pool and rooftop steam room, with their beautiful mountain views, are great for a calm family break. Our room was spacious, bright, and had all the necessary amenities, while the staff were professional and attentive. The one issue was the lack of meat products without pork, so my wife and I had to eat at other places in the city.
