We stayed from September 1st to 10th. Our room had a shared balcony, kettle, hairdryer, and Wi-Fi, but the TV was broken and the picture was barely visible. The room was never cleaned, towels were never replaced, and there wasn’t any toilet paper. Sound carried badly through the wall, including the neighbors’ snoring. The buffet breakfast, at least, was delicious.

Room 18 was conveniently located and had working plumbing, a water heater, and air conditioning. There was also a kettle, refrigerator, and Wi-Fi. The room still smelled of wood, but the mountain view in the morning was pleasant, similar to the mountain view in Phuket, Thailand, where the Big Buddha is. The electricity went out only a couple of times and we barely noticed. The main problems were the empty refrigerator at check-in, even though we arrived at night with all the shops closed, and the fact that tap water wasn’t drinkable. The mattress sagged badly, so sleeping felt like lying in a hammock and left my back slightly sore. A foul smell came from the sink plumbing and remained even after using chemicals. Soundproofing was weak, so quiet neighbors would be important. Parking was inside the grounds, although there is plenty of room behind the fence. The hotel is comfortable overall, and the mountain view is much better than looking at the road or unfinished building. The balconies are really open passageways rather than private balconies. The beach is fairly good, with paid loungers and a large area for towels. The stones are rounded, so the coral reefers we bought weren’t necessary. A small shop by the hotel fence sells cold beer, mineral water, ice cream, and household items, and there’s a pharmacy across the street. The market is about 300 meters away and closes around 7 a.m., with lots of imported fruit at prices close to those in the Moscow region. We found excursions across from Margarita's, by the alley to the sea. We also drove to Pitsunda ourselves on the federal highway. The cafe near the Chagem Ora market and the MunCafe khinkali place in the courtyards were both top-notch.

We stayed at the end of July 2022, after choosing this guesthouse from its reviews. The reality didn’t match them, especially the claims about friendly service and good food. The staff were cold, and they made coffee as if we were bothering them. Breakfast, served 50 meters away, consisted of cold sausages and eggs. Nearby cafes and restaurants offered more variety and better food. Our room was tiny, with no comfortable place to sit. The table was meant for two, but we were two adults and two children on the 3rd floor, so it was extremely cramped. Noise was another issue. Even when neighbors weren’t especially loud, we could hear people using the toilet and opening closets. There were cockroaches in the room, including one inside the refrigerator. Maybe some people can overlook that, but this is not a 4.5! The comfortable bed and very convenient location were the only real positives. The sea and market are nearby. I don’t recommend staying in this building!! (Note: Cleaning)

We were lucky to get a room with a luxurious mountain view. It had a small refrigerator, TV with many channels, shower, toilet, and access to Wi-Fi throughout the grounds. The hotel’s own generator is a major advantage, since power cuts in Abkhazia are unfortunately common and this means electricity and water should remain available. The rooms have very poor soundproofing, though, so your experience depends a lot on the neighbors. Breakfast is included and served in the cafe on the first floor. You won’t go hungry, but the choices could use more variety. The sea is 500 meters away, and you can continue to beaches farther along. Sun loungers and umbrellas cost extra. The embankment, Ferris wheel, and main activity of new Gagra are 1.5-2 kilometers away, while the dolphinarium is 400 meters from the hotel.

We were there from December 30, 2018, to January 1, 2019. The staff were friendly and the hotel was decent. Our room included average Wi-Fi, a split-system air conditioner, TV, refrigerator, kettle, shower, and toilet. The sea was a 10-minute walk away. Unfortunately, soundproofing was poor, so we could hear all the neighbors talking, and the dining room was closed.
