We stayed from May 3, 2026, and the experience was honestly very disappointing 😡. We have visited Gagra before and always booked through the same tour operator, who promised us a wonderful hotel with restaurant food. On the drive from the airport, a local driver explained what kind of place it was. I had never even heard of it, and even the locals didn’t seem to know it, although the map showed it opposite the local market. That already made me uneasy. The grounds looked abandoned, like we had gone back to the USSR 🙈. A pleasant girl at reception told us to eat quickly in the cafeteria because it was closing, then checked us in. The room itself was clean and spacious, with towels, robes, toiletries, and daily cleaning. Those were the only real positives. Instead of a playground, there were rusty pipes. The route to the sea was full of ruins and dangerously uneven, to the point where you could break your legs. People with strollers have to go well beyond the grounds, and even walking there without one was frightening. If we had known, we wouldn’t have gone for any price, especially since it wasn’t cheap. The food was disgusting. The gym was old, smelly, and in terrible condition 🙀. I regret not reading the reviews first. We trusted the tour operator, but apparently she had never been there herself 🥺.

My husband and I stayed from August 29th to September 4th, 2025, and the high rating turned out to be completely misleading. At check-in, the receptionist was unfriendly, handed us a thick set of rules, and told us to read and sign. She didn’t provide the Wi-Fi password or explain the hotel concept. The so-called restaurant was unsanitary, with crumbs, scattered spices, and no napkins on the tables. Staff mostly stood around listening to music and dancing. The bar sometimes had beer, lemonade, and water, but the advertised fries, nuggets, and popcorn were missing. Once the bartender brought a plate of cold fries and told us to help ourselves. The beach was unsafe, with rebars sticking out in the water. We had to go farther away to swim, and there were no proper umbrellas, only a strange canopy. There were no trash cans either. The grounds looked as though they had been through a war, and there was some unclear river or sewer leaking across them. The linens and towels were stained. We also got rotavirus there. People were lying in their rooms with fever, diarrhea, and vomiting, and we had to go to the hospital for an IV. The drip cost 3800₽ (+460₽), with all the supplies bought ourselves from the pharmacy across the street, plus taxis. The next day, when we flew out, there were more problems. There was no animation, the gym was awful, and there was nothing to do. I’ve stayed in Abkhazia three times, including cheaper hotels where everything was fine. This place was a NIGHTMARE. WHAT 5 STARS HERE ARE 2 STARS!!!

The hotel is in a partly ruined state. The advertised sauna, trampoline, and animation were absent, and the route to the sea was closed. Barmaid Nika was positive, and Madonna was very pleasant. She cleaned the rooms every day and always smiled.

The hotel has both good and bad sides. The rooms are comfortable and always clean, and the food is varied and tasty. The children’s animation was excellent, but there was basically nothing for adults, so it felt boring. The kitchen staff left a particularly bad impression. We were leaving for an excursion early and arrived five minutes before breakfast ended, but they refused to let us in and were rude, ruining the whole day. They also don’t provide packed meals. The hotel isn’t bad, but we won’t return.
