Sun Palace Gagra Hotel

We were greeted warmly during our late check-in, and the receptionist explained everything and even brought pastries so we could have tea after the journey. The room on the fifth floor was large and clean, with crisp white bedding. Cleaning was available whenever requested, and the maid asked each day. The sheets were changed on the fifth day, and the bathroom had a hairdryer, disposable toothbrushes, and other essentials. The elevator was always working, was spacious, and held up to 13 people. Meals were excellent, with fruit such as apples, nectarines, melon, and watermelon every day, plus pastries at every meal. The hotel is on the second line, but a shuttle goes to the private beach every two hours. Loungers and umbrellas are free, and the public beach is also walkable. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

We spent August 2023 at the Sun Palace Hotel in Gagra and had a very comfortable stay. The room included air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, safe, and kettle. The bathroom had a hairdryer, standard and tropical showers, and a bidet, and everything worked properly. Furniture was good quality, rooms were cleaned daily, and hand, body, and beach towels were changed every three days. The buffet offered plenty of choice and was tasty, although some dishes were too spicy for me. They serve chicken and fish, but no pork or beef. Watermelon was daily, while apples appeared only a couple of times. The hotel doesn't have its own beach. A bus leaves hourly for the beach at the Chelyuskintsev holiday home. Walking took about an hour in the heat, so that was difficult. The beach was clean, with sand around the loungers and pebbles at the sea entrance, plus a changing room and shower. The sea was warm and usually clean, though strong wind brought debris ashore. Overall, we had a great time.

We loved this modern hotel. The renovated rooms are roomy, clean, and newly furnished, with air conditioning, a hairdryer, towels, slippers, bathroom supplies, a refrigerator, tea-making facilities, and curtains thick enough to block the sun. Drinking water is replaced every day. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious, and the price for what you get is excellent. There’s also a clean, well-equipped private beach. Highly recommended.

Meals were tasty and varied, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The city beach is about a 10-minute walk away, while the hotel runs a transfer to its fenced beach every two hours. Sun loungers and umbrellas there are free.
