Pekan Guest House

This is a quiet, cozy place suited to a family holiday. The rooms have showers, toilets, TVs, air conditioning, good beds, and towels for each guest. A kitchen is available for an extra fee. The sea is about 300 meters away, with small shops nearby. Just keep in mind that the village is far from Pitsunda and other entertainment. If you want peace and quiet, the location works well.

The family-run hotel is quiet and set back from the road, with friendly cafe staff, maids, an administrator, and security guard. The grounds are very clean and fresh, and the rooms have air conditioning, refrigerator, bathroom, TV, white linens, and comfortable mattresses and pillows. The sea is a couple of minutes away, or around 5 minutes with children. Nearby are a pebble beach, fruit and grocery shops, pharmacy, beach goods, excursions, and a minibus stop for Pitsunda, Gagra, and the border. Lidzava's pine beach and the sandy Captain Black beach are each about a 15-minute walk in opposite directions. The summer kitchen is useful for washing produce, chopping salad, and making tea, but it has no stove. The on-site cafe fills that gap with tasty, inexpensive home cooking and large portions. Most guests have children, who often play together on the lawn. That's fun for families, though couples may find the noise a drawback. Soundproofing is not as strong as in a large building, but nobody disturbed us. Rooms are cleaned every five days. I wish the floors were mopped more often, the bathroom trash emptied, and toilet paper supplied without us having to ask. We also found mold in the bathroom. Even so, the place was wonderful overall.

The hosts are friendly and responsive, and the sea is within walking distance. The on-site cafe serves delicious food, while the website photos accurately show the property. An excellent guesthouse, highly recommended.
