Hotel Ashamta hotel&SPA Afon

The hotel is actually closed even though it accepts reservations. Before arrival, our booking was moved to a guest house on the same property, where the conditions were simply appalling. We expected a vacation full of impressions and emotions, but instead got deception and a completely ruined trip.

The location is perfect, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, so finding food is easy. The staff are polite, and the rooms contain everything needed, including toilet paper. Everything was clean, and linens and towels were changed every five days. The hotel itself could certainly be better maintained. The sink gets clogged and then starts leaking badly, and the plumbing is not properly looked after. The most annoying part was the cafe on the lake, whose music was very loud and continued until 11:30 PM.

This is a reasonably priced hotel with cozy rooms and a quiet night. Hot water, air conditioning, towels, toilet paper, and the other basics are provided, and there is a kettle in the room. A cafe is located on the ground floor. Although it was closed during the off-season, we could still get chips, wine, and other snacks. The adjacent building has a cafeteria open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. if you need something more. The receptionist was friendly, and the prices were not expensive.

The main reason to stay here is the location, especially how close it is to the sea and the sights of Mount Athos. The staff were friendly and the hotel was decent, even though our economy room had no kettle or cups. The shower stall also looked shabby and clearly needs replacing. We were only there for a very short time.
