Garuda Boutique Hotel

We were there from 12/31/25 to 01/06/26. The staff were consistently polite and helpful, let us check in early without an extra charge, and gave us a complimentary glass of wine. The food was tasty and varied enough, although the Swedish dish selection was not very large. The serious problem was seating: seven tables for 70 people meant there was almost never a place to sit, while some guests stayed for hours over wine. The only extra seats were on a cold covered veranda used by smokers. Holiday music played in the first-floor dining room from 8:00 PM until 11:00 PM, which is fine for club lovers but frustrating when you want to rest. Our first room was by the elevator, with constant noise and tobacco coming from smoking in the stairwell. After we asked, they moved us farther away, and the room became quiet and smoke-free. Soundproofing was poor enough to hear neighbors talking and laughing, as well as cars without mufflers at night. A square glass bottle in the room looked like a Daniel's bottle but contained ordinary water, while the nearby grocery store sold 1.5-liter bottles of mineral water. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the embankment, and the three parking spaces were always occupied by Abkhazian license plates. We won't return.

We have stayed here twice, once at the start of summer and again before New Year because we dislike hot weather. By the standards of comparable hotels in Russia, Turkey, and Egypt, it deserves a solid 4.5 stars. The place is very clean, peaceful, and quiet, with friendly, helpful staff. The food is simple but varied, made with good-quality ingredients that are the best available at the local market in each season. The entrance area has especially elegant design.

The room was comfortable, with air conditioning, mosquito nets, a safe, a hairdryer, and other useful things. Food was varied and tasty. The sea is about a 15-minute walk in a straight line.

The breakfasts were excellent, the dinners varied, and everything from our room to the restaurant floor was spotlessly clean. The reception and restaurant staff were friendly and answered our questions. We stayed from May 13, 2025. Because the hotel is beside a busy road, speed bumps before and after the building would help reduce traffic noise and make crossing easier. Benches along the street and a seasonal shuttle to the beach might also be useful. Thank you for the stay.
