Karacas

The pool was warm, the staff were polite and helpful, and getting around Sukhum was easy. The sea isn’t far, and taxis and buses were no problem either. Everything was great at the Karakas Hotel. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday in Abkhazia 👍

I stayed here at the beginning of July, and the warmth of the place is hard to put into words. The rooms were spacious and clean, while the staff were carefully chosen, responsive, and really knowledgeable. Irina especially won me over, she was simply amazing. I’ll definitely return.

We visited the Caracas Hotel in September 2024 and would gladly come back next year with friends. Its position is nicely removed from the city noise, with clean beaches that weren’t crowded, while the central promenade was still only a ten-minute walk away. In the courtyard, flowers and a waterfall create a lovely spot for sitting in the evening. The staff were friendly and polite, and our comfortable room had everything needed and was cleaned every day. Breakfast was filling, with porridge, meat dishes, pastries, vegetables, fruit, and more.

The courtyard was one of my favorite parts, with palm trees, paved paths, swings, a barbecue area, and a small summer pond. Inside, everything was clean and cozy, and the spacious rooms were cleaned daily with fresh linens, towels, and toiletries. Ms. Irina and Ms. Aida became friends during our stay, and the staff were lovely. We started each morning with great coffee and tea. There’s a pool and a hammam, both of which we used twice, and they were excellent each time. The lobby has sofas and armchairs for sitting, talking, or having coffee, and the hot water pressure was always good. One evening the electricity went out, but the electric lanterns around the hotel and in our room made the atmosphere peaceful and unusual. The beach is close, with sand about ten minutes away and pebbles across the road. Laundry and drying were quick and efficient, and the administrator supplied all the equipment when we used the courtyard barbecue. We left with only positive feelings and highly recommend this corner of Abkhazia.
