Roza Guest House

This is a good guesthouse for people who did not come by their own car. The staff are friendly, and having air conditioning and a pool is a major advantage. There are some drawbacks: the rooms are quite damp, and there were ants and small spiders, with webs on the ceilings. More thorough cleaning would be great. The owner's garden is very beautiful, especially the roses. If you are not too sensitive to those issues, I recommend staying here, since the positives really outweigh the negatives and the price is modest.

The shared kitchen is large, clean, and equipped with everything needed, including a Turkish coffee pot, which mattered a lot to me. The hosts clearly love roses, and even the dog's name is Rose. Everything was comfortable and neat, and the grill and skewers were excellent. It feels like an oasis of comfort in Sukhumi. We stayed only two nights this time, but plan to spend our whole vacation here next year. Everything is within walking distance.

The grounds are small but beautiful, with gorgeous roses, fresh flowers on the tables, and a shared kitchen for cooking. There is also a deep pool with pleasantly warm water. Our room had air conditioning, a TV, and a bathroom, though it was honestly a little damp. The water was turned off in the evening during our stay and returned a couple of hours later. The location is quieter than being closer to the center, and a bus stop is nearby. There is also a brewery close by where you can buy fresh, tasty Sukhumi beer that tastes like it did back in the Union.

The grounds are green and even have a small pool, so the place is not bad overall. Just keep in mind that this is an economy hotel. The room contains only the beds, a desk, and a nightstand, while the shower, toilet, and kitchen are shared. There is no microwave in the kitchen, and the refrigerator freezes everything, so we could not warm up meat in the morning.
