Sukhum Guest House

Its central location is the biggest advantage, just 50 meters from the central market. This is a cozy hostel with a tidy courtyard, clean rooms, and very kind hosts. The room had a bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, bedside tables, and a TV, although there was no antenna cable. The ceilings are extremely low, around 190 cm. One bathroom has only a toilet, while the other includes a shower, toilet, sink, and washing machine. Soap and shampoo are supplied. The shared kitchen is used by both guests and hosts, with separate dishes and cupboards. The guest refrigerator was awful and really should be thrown away. We used the hostess's refrigerator instead, though we were warned that her mother could take any food from it. Sugar, tea, and coffee aren't provided, and red cockroaches were running around the kitchen and bathroom. The courtyard table was comfortable for eating or sitting with friends. The hostess also offered very tasty meals for an extra fee.

One of the places worth seeing is Brekhalovka. You can have excellent oriental coffee for 30₽☕ while listening to the surf🌊 and watching locals play backgammon🔳, with incredible air all around. On the downtown stretch of Sukhum's waterfront, I also enjoyed the greenery, monuments, palm and eucalyptus trees, attractive building facades, restaurants, cafés, and the theater with its fountain. At a nearby table, some older men were having a relaxed conversation and turned out to be members of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia. I didn't take photos for ethical reasons, and the security guard also made me hesitate.

The guesthouse is beautifully decorated and very clean, and the hostess is genuinely friendly. The sea is about a 10-minute walk away, with a market nearby. Our only inconvenience was having to use the bathroom and toilet in another shared room. Even so, we recommend the place.

My wife and I stayed in this guest house and found the hosts hospitable and the rooms clean. Cafés and canteens are nearby, and so is the sea. I recommend it.
