Hotel Mila

The restaurant stood out, with good quality food and plenty of menu choice. Staff were very helpful too, arranging discounts for ski hire, lift passes, and a spa visit. The hotel is older but extremely clean, and the lounge is large. Wi-Fi was reasonably reliable. With breakfast included, the price was very good, and the gondola and bus stop were only a short walk away. A worthwhile option in Encamp.

The food was hard to beat for value. Breakfast had lots of fresh choices, including gluten-free and low-calorie items, different breads, and cereals. Dinner offered three starters, three main courses, and four desserts, with well-cooked food, excellent Portuguese wine, and very reasonable prices. The bar was cosy, and guests tended to chat with one another. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a lovely view, and the shower was huge. Reception welcomed us warmly, while the staff were friendly and clearly enjoyed their work. The hotel is quiet but still within walking distance of town, and the main telecabin is two minutes away. In summer, remember that it only operates in July and August. Ask for a valley-facing room.

Milá has an especially good setting in Encamp, giving you a central base while still being a little away from the town and therefore quieter. Our bedroom had outstanding views, although rooms on the opposite side would not have the same outlook. Breakfast was a real highlight, thanks in part to Gilles, with plenty of variety, good quality, and views from the breakfast room. The room was spotless and generally good, though I would have been less happy in one of the very small, unpleasant twin rooms. Since we visited in low season, the empty garage was very convenient. Some staff were a disappointment, particularly those who came across as arrogant or sardonic with customers.

For a small hotel, the value is good and breakfast is nice. Parking is available around 50 meters away.
