The staff were great, but unfortunately most other things fell short. The renovated bathrooms were a positive, although I noticed a couple of silverfish or similar creatures crawling around. The rooms were incredibly noisy. I could hear the person in the next room snoring, and traffic remained unbearable even with the windows shut. My earplugs were essential for getting any sleep. The rooms technically have air conditioning, but it’s centrally controlled, so I couldn’t switch it on when the room became hot at night with the windows closed. The interior is dated, and breakfast was acceptable, though it leaned heavily toward sweet foods.

The price was excellent, about 50 euros for a room each night including a lavish breakfast, and the room was cleaned every day. More importantly, the three reception staff treated me with real respect when I arrived looking rough after a motorbike crash and a hospital visit for rib X-rays. I had to stay unexpectedly while recovering before continuing east, and they were kind, courteous, patient, and helpful. Some guests stood outside my door at midnight talking for half an hour, but that was their behaviour, not a fault of the hotel. I couldn’t fault the place and would return if I visit Andorra again.

The staff were what made this affordable hotel such a good stay. Anna, the night desk lady, and Angeles, the morning desk lady, were both warm and helpful. They helped me find my way around the city and sorted out the parking situation. My room was small but clean and quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. The hotel is within walking distance of town and close to the Caldea Spa. Breakfast had plenty of bread and pastries, unlimited coffee, and a small meat and cheese selection. One warning about parking: there’s no free parking in Andorra La Vella, and the hotel has very few paid spaces. Request one in advance if you need it.

The lady serving the buffet breakfast was especially lovely and welcoming. She was so nice and deserves a raise. The hotel itself was excellent, and the staff were great.
