Al Khayma Camp "Elite Glamping & Dining in Experience"

The camel ride was great, and we went twice, though you can do it more times. The camels seemed healthy, with no signs of abuse, and you can feed them. The food was delicious, the music was nice, and there were dancing shows. Everyone was friendly, and the restrooms were spacious and clean. The shops were a bit pricey.

The evening at Al Khayma camp was a highlight of my Dubai trip. It ended beautifully, watching the sunset and then the stars come out over the desert. We started with a smooth pickup from the hotel in a comfortable 4x4, then had a thrilling dune bashing session in the red desert. Sandboarding and photo stops among the golden dunes made it even more memorable. The camp had an authentic Arabian feel and was beautifully arranged. We were welcomed with Arabic coffee and dates, and could try camel rides, henna painting and shisha. The evening also included Tanoura dance and fire performances, plus a delicious BBQ buffet dinner.

The food was excellent, with generous, carefully chosen Arabian, Moroccan and Emirati dishes that were full of flavour. The relaxed, authentic setting was lovely, and the friendly camels and resident cats added to the charm. Many of the staff were Egyptian, and they were warm and gracious, going out of their way to make guests feel welcome and at home. Visiting Al Khayma Camp on the desert tour was easily the highlight of my trip. A truly memorable experience with great food and hospitality.

The most memorable part was the camel ride across the dunes. We had 45 minutes to take in the wide desert views and get photos, then enjoyed a private tea break and watched the falconry display in the quiet. Dinner at Al Khayma Elite Camp was good, with traditional performances and a lovely atmosphere under the stars. Getting there felt personal too: a private car collected us from our Airbnb in Business Bay, and our guide was attentive, professional, and full of useful knowledge. We chose the Camel Ride and Dining package, and the evening was a real highlight. It suited us well because it focused on comfort and a more intimate desert experience than the usual dune bashing crowds. One tip for the journey back: leave as soon as the final belly dance performance ends, or even 10-15 minutes earlier. All the tour vehicles use the same main track, and traffic can back up badly. Waiting until the very end could keep you in the desert much longer than expected.
