Novotel Fujairah

The hotel is clean, but it needs maintenance. The pool is particularly inconvenient because it has one level and is too deep for me to use comfortably. I am 158 centimeters tall and cannot touch the ground. When I asked the lifeguards, they said I should bring my own jacket, even though this was not mentioned on the website. When I asked why, they said they could not say something like that. Swimming classes take place every day from 4 to 8 p.m., with many children using the pool, so other guests cannot enjoy it comfortably. Room service also used their keys to open the room while I was sleeping because they wanted to clean, which was upsetting.

The bathroom and the view from our Executive room were the better parts, and the pool area was nice. Unfortunately, the property is not maintained to the standard its price suggests. The bed was very hard, the pillows were barely usable, and the kettle and iron were too dirty to use. Dust covered the curtains and windows, the window would not close properly, and traffic noise came in from the main road. The carpets, seat, and couches also looked very dirty. No bathrubs or slippers were provided, perhaps they are available on request. We had to ask reception for water. The changing rooms, hallways, and fitness area were not inviting, and service was average at best. Breakfast was the most disappointing part of the stay, with a poor, low-quality selection and unfriendly service from some staff. I am an Accor gold member, but Double Tree Hilton next door was day and night compared with Novotel/Adagio. The service there was professional and the food selection was great. I do not understand how Accor charges similar rates when the standards differ so much. I highly recommend DoubleTree for a small extra cost.

Naveed was especially helpful when we were unhappy with our initial room. He immediately offered a complimentary upgrade, and his prompt, kind, and professional response made us comfortable and satisfied with the stay. Sandra and the rest of the Novotel team also helped make the visit memorable. The excellent customer service made a real difference, and I highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for comfort and good hospitality.

I tried calling the team more than 20 times to book a room, but nobody answered. That was very disappointing and reflected badly on the service quality. Customer support needs to improve, especially the response time to booking calls.
