Crowne Plaza Dubai - Deira, an IHG Hotel

Jinky, Harvey, and Angelica made us feel well looked after, checking in regularly and helping with anything we needed. They were warm, attentive, and professional, and their service helped make the visit memorable. The food was fresh and delicious, with every dish nicely presented and full of flavor. We had a fantastic meal and would happily come back. Thanks to the whole team!

Ms Thiri was especially friendly and professional. I felt welcome throughout my stay thanks to the very friendly staff. The room was spotless, and the location was ideal. Some of the furniture looked dated, but it was comfortable and worked fine. I really enjoyed my visit to the Crowne Plaza.

The only real bright spots were Mr. Abdo at the pool bar and the gentleman who prepared the shisha. Both were friendly, professional, and attentive, and seemed genuinely focused on guests. Everything else about the stay was frustrating and well below what I expected. Basic items were missing when we arrived: no shower gel, tissues, or spoon for hot drinks. I had to call for shower gel, then wait about an hour and a half. When someone finally came, they seemed confused. The room felt as if it had not been properly checked or prepared. There were also cleanliness and maintenance problems throughout the room. The bathroom was in poor shape: the toilet flush did not work properly, the shower leaked, water pressure was weak, and the water was rusty-colored. The bathroom had not been cleaned adequately, some toiletries were missing, and the floor stayed visibly dirty until I asked housekeeping to clean it. One bedside lamp was broken. The TV did not work for either of our two nights, despite my reporting it several times, and it was never repaired. Service was slow too. Room service requests took an unreasonable amount of time, and the luggage service caused unnecessary delays. There was no valet parking, which made things less convenient. When I called reception to report a problem, a staff member abruptly hung up before addressing it. I found that disrespectful and unacceptable. At the pool, the lifeguard was rude and unhelpful when we asked for help finding shade, and made us feel unwelcome. The room issues and poor service left a very negative impression. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the guest experience.

We had a lovely time celebrating at Spice Island. The Cuban performers put on engaging sets, and dancing with the singer was really fun. Jinky, Edlyn, Leonie, Angelika, and Harvy were quick to respond and gave us great service. Thank you, and more power, Spice Island!
