Dolphin Hotel Apartments

We spent 16 days here and had a comfortable, pleasant stay overall. The room stayed clean and well maintained, and it was spacious. The location made nearby facilities easy to reach, and breakfast was satisfactory, with a decent selection. A few things need work: the television and bathroom taps need upgrading. I also had water supply problems about four or five times while bathing. Pick-up and drop-off arrangements could be more convenient for guests. With those improvements, the experience could be much better.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. I stayed at Dolphin Hotel in Bur Dubai last week and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent, and it felt like good value for money. A great option for families visiting Dubai, I’d happily recommend it.

Parking is awkward here. Since the hotel is near a junction signal, drivers may need to pick you up or drop you off a little farther away. Inside, our one-bedroom hall apartment with a kitchen, booked as a double-sharing executive suite, was spacious enough for two adults and two children. The washing machine was new, though I’m unclear why it’s provided if guests can’t dry clothes on the balcony. We were told the municipality could fine guests for doing so, even with the clothes-drying stand provided. We stayed eight days during the busy Christmas holiday and paid around 870 AED per night in surcharge, which effectively doubled the rate. The shower is fixed above the bathtub, with no separate shower room, so it was a bit inconvenient to use. We heard 10 to 12 people arguing with reception about smells in their rooms, though we didn’t have that problem ourselves. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, with only a South Indian menu. There are non-veg options through Noon and Keeto food delivery services, which deliver directly to the room.

The food was cold and the same every day, and the service was so slow that we had to ask five minutes ahead. They don’t listen to children, either. Four people aren’t allowed in one room. The lift to the top, the 10th floor, is extremely slow and takes two minutes.
