Rush hour has become a headache since taxis were moved to Zabeel Mall and parking at Dubai Mall stopped being free. We still love living here, but if the problems don’t improve, we’ll leave without regrets when our contract ends. Emaar should reassess the head management and the people responsible for DV2, then put professionals in charge who do their jobs properly and protect Emaar’s reputation. As Muslims, living somewhere full of najas isn’t acceptable to us. The place had a lot going for it. The amenities are amazing, the shared spaces are among the largest in Downtown/Zabeel, and it felt family-friendly. There’s direct access to Dubai Mall, good transport links, lovely views on both sides, friendly neighbors, helpful and polite concierges, and fast elevators. There’s a wonderful mosque nearby with a kind local community. The complex also has a pharmacy, mini market, barbershop, beauty salon, and pilates studio. But over the past couple of years, it’s become almost impossible to live here. One big problem is dog owners who don’t clean up. The community, including the parking and pet-free zones, has become like one large dog toilet. There are stains and feces in the elevators, parking areas, entrances, and corridors, and management never fines the people responsible. Management has let the building down. Fees have gone up while quality has dropped, and this is damaging Emaar’s reputation. Elevators are often dirty, wet, or smelly, while corridors and parking areas smell like garbage. Residents have started seeing cockroaches, though not many so far. Floors still look dirty after regular mopping, possibly because of poor detergents. People misuse the garbage rooms and leave trash on the floor instead of using the chutes. The parking area doesn’t get cleaned, and the podium no longer gets the deep cleaning it used to. Services aren’t reliable either. Security is sometimes unresponsive, and the gym and pools are overcrowded, with many non-residents using them. Random fire alarms still go off. Many residents have bad smells coming from the AC/chiller; we have that problem in one room. Some repairs are quick, others drag on. It once took four days to clean dog poop from my parking spot. Staff often act only after residents complain, and the Emaar One app, WhatsApp chat, and call center are rarely helpful. There’s rubbish everywhere, and people who litter aren’t fined. There are also safety concerns. Most residents find cigarette butts on their terraces, which is extremely dangerous, and security and management seem helpless. We’ve found cigarette butts, vomit, and even a dead rat on our own terrace. Many homeless pets have been seen in the parking area, and random cars take assigned spots. I’ve seen drunk people smoking in elevators; one got aggressive when I asked him to stop. Some residents use lobbies and meeting rooms for manicures, pedicures, and other inappropriate activities.
