Gulf Inn Hotel Al Nasr

Breakfast had a good selection and the food was good. Our room was comfortable and clean, and housekeeping kept it well maintained. The staff were polite, cheerful, and quick to help, while room service was excellent and made sure we were comfortable during the stay. We had a great time at Gulf Inn Al Nasr Hotel in Dubai, from the warm, professional welcome onward. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to visitors to Dubai.

I canceled and moved to another hotel after being told about extra charges at check-in. I’d booked four nights through Agoda, where parking was listed as a facility and the total including taxes had already been charged. The receptionist said parking was AED 20 per day, even for guests, explaining that “parking facility” didn’t mean it was free. I found that misleading, since I’d expect guest parking to be free at most hotels, especially in the Gulf region. They also wanted AED 15 per night as tourism tax despite my online payment. I thought taxes were normally included in an online booking, and didn’t expect surprise fees at reception. Future guests should check the charges carefully, as additional costs may not be clearly explained during booking.

The place was cozy and nice, but our room had a really strong cigarette smell when we arrived. Room service sprayed air freshener, which covered it for only a few minutes. We had to put up with the odor throughout the stay, and it was very uncomfortable. Freshener just doesn’t solve it. Maybe the ventilation has something to do with the problem.

The rooms are okay, and the receptionists and room service staff are respectful. The real issues seem to be with management. Wi-Fi fails about 90% of the time, and when it does work, it’s painfully slow. The room card system was down for around three days, which caused hassle, and problems aren’t handled with any urgency. I’ve complained repeatedly about the internet over the past two weeks and keep hearing, “just 2 hours and it'll be fixed.” If you need internet for exams or work, I absolutely don’t recommend staying here. That’s really all I can say about the rooms.
