Hotel Howard Johnson by Wyndham Bur Dubai

Mumtaz at the reception desk made my stay comfortable and stress-free. She was helpful from check-in through check-out, paid attention to details, and handled each request courteously. I stayed with my family at Howard Johnson Hotel from 17th to 23rd. The rooms were comfortable and had good facilities, and the stay felt relaxing. Staff were polite, supportive, and quick to help whenever we called the desk, which was available 24/7. The hotel arranged activities for us, and its pick-up and drop service was smooth and convenient. The location also made getting around easy. Indian food was available, and breakfast was fresh and very good quality, making this a great choice for Indian guests. I appreciate the service and would recommend the hotel.

We were exhausted, sleepy, and hungry after traveling from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah and then back to Bur Dubai. We only wanted to check in, rest, and sleep before our planned holiday in Dubai the next day. Our room had already been fully paid, but the manager on duty still refused to let us check in. We ended up driving straight back to Abu Dhabi, and the situation ruined our holiday. This happened on May 28, 2026, around 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The manager shouted at us in the lobby in front of other people, which left us feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. He came across as rude and unprofessional. A manager should explain policies clearly, handle complaints properly, and offer possible solutions or alternatives. I’m not saying the customer is always right, but he should have talked through the situation calmly instead of raising his voice. The whole experience was extremely disappointing. This behavior isn’t acceptable from someone in a managerial role, and we definitely wouldn’t recommend the hotel.
