Majestic City Retreat Hotel

The room was cleaned well every day, and our stay was good. Mr. Franklin was especially kind and polite with the kids and older guests, always friendly and smiling. I do think the breakfast menu could improve. The taste and choice were poor on some days, and just okay on others.

We found another place to stay right away. I wouldn't recommend staying here; the hotel felt full of negative energy, like ghosts and devils were around. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Our stay at the Majestic Hotel was on 18 /19 Dec 2025, and we left feeling uncomfortable and let down. On arrival, the atmosphere already felt negative. Our room on the 20th floor had poor ventilation and the air conditioning didn't work properly, so we felt suffocated. The mini-fridge also wasn't working right, and plumbing problems made both the bathtub and sink overflow. We told reception, but help took over 35 minutes. A staff member tried adjusting the temperature, but we still couldn't get fresh air. The following morning, we waited 17 to 20 minutes for an escalator, and there were only 2 escalators. Breakfast was another problem: the queue was very long and seating was limited. When we finally got a table, a waiter said we couldn't sit there because it wasn't part of their property. That was surprising and disappointing. We went to reception to ask about a partial refund for the rest of our stay. They showed little interest and barely asked about our dissatisfaction. It seemed our concerns weren't a priority, while staff were more focused on serving pub customers. There were too many issues, and I want the organization to understand how this affected our experience. 🙏🙏

The few people who made a positive difference were the cleaning boy, the new breakfast trainee, a young man who apparently worked at Marriott before and was excellent, and the breakfast chef, who kept checking we had what we needed. The girl manager was the main reason this review isn't worse. She tried hard to put things right and changed our room without trouble. But the complimentary massage she offered for my friend and me was no better than the first. It stopped before the full hour, just like the first one, and was cut short halfway when the receptionist called out that it was “enough.” The masseuse left me mid-massage. They then insisted I leave a good review. The spa was the first big problem. My massage at the Orchid Spa was awful, and I was offered an inappropriate “finishing” service. After I refused, the “masseuse” didn't say goodbye or give me privacy to get dressed, and began “cleaning “ the room while I was still dressing. The whole “salon” smelled unpleasant. The spa ad in the elevator is completely misleading and doesn't match what I experienced. Nothing about it felt professional. The rooms also had serious problems. In the first one, the bathtub leaked every time we showered, the handle was coming off completely, and there was no soundproofing. In the replacement room, shower water still leaked and the sink was clogged. Our key card failed on three separate occasions, so we had to go all the way down from the 22nd floor to reception each time. It was inconvenient and took a lot of time. Noise was constant, day and night. We were woken up every night by loud disturbances, and with no soundproofing it was nearly impossible to rest. The hotel didn't seem very diverse and appeared focused entirely on one culture, which unfortunately tends to be extremely loud at all hours. The location was another major issue, honestly catastrophic. It didn't feel like Dubai at all. There was constant noise, unpleasant smells and little atmosphere around the hotel. It smelled bad in almost every part of the hotel. Even asking for a simple fork to eat in my room cost 15 AED, more than my instant ramen. The experience was extremely disappointing and far below expectations.

We had a comfortable week long stay. The room was spacious and tidy, the food was delicious, and housekeeping was very good. S. Aiyappan gave especially great service.
