Westzone Plaza Hotel Apartments

The rooms are clean and spacious, with all the facilities you need, and the staff are friendly and help with whatever’s required. The WiFi is good, but hard to connect to. We had to get the IT guy to come to our room and connect it every other day. Breakfast is a modest buffet, but sufficient and well made. The rooftop pool has a nice view, though we didn’t use it. The location is very good, with the nearest metro about 500 meters away on foot and a supermarket for daily needs just beyond two other buildings.

I liked the hotel, and both it and the location are good. But the Asian staff are so rude. If they were friendly and polite, I’d give it four stars. I hope the owner reads this. I wouldn’t return because of the staff, even though I liked the hotel.

It’s about 500 m from ADCB Metro station, which is a real plus. I stayed at Winchester hotel for a day and had a good experience. The rooms are especially spacious and have a good view of the Dubai skyline. There’s also a swimming pool on the terrace. Good value for money.

Cleanliness and room size were okay, but the service and nearly all the staff, except the cleaners, were a complete joke. We stayed eight nights with my family and niece, and our 18 month old baby, and ended up being moved four times because something or other kept not working. I’d stayed in golden sands before and would recommend it over Winchester Grand. It’s usually cheaper too. The first issue was the electricity cutting out three times. Mercy, the manager, said she’d move us in the morning. A different manager was there in the morning and didn’t move us. We only got moved that evening, after Mercy had some stern words with him. A couple of hours later, someone else had moved into the very room we’d been having problems with. In the second room, the glass tables weren’t bolted down properly and nearly fell on my niece. The air conditioning didn’t work, the wifi hardly ever worked, and the door card readers kept failing. Maintenance would take at least two hours to get to us. When we moved for the third time, the air conditioning still didn’t work, despite it being 40degrees outside. Maintenance came to fix it, then left the room and disappeared. I found them downstairs at reception, where they were laughing with receptionists and the manager about us and other residents. They said, 'If they cant bare 28degrees room temperature, how will they bare 40degrees outside'. They looked shocked when they realized we’d heard. I wasn’t the only guest with problems. Many other people were complaining, including people on working holidays.
