Xclusive Maples Hotel Apartment

I spent approx 4.5 months here and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were excellent, and Mr Thant from housekeeping took great care of us. My room was spacious and had a balcony. Wishing xclusive Maples hotel Apartments all the very best.

The room was comfortable and good for sleeping, but the prices they quote don’t match the amenities and facilities. I was allotted a 1BR apartment, but there were cockroaches and a bud beg, which I duly reported to the reception staff. The living room smelled a bit, and the kitchen utensils weren’t well cared for and smelled too. The swimming pool is closed on Sunday, the one day everyone is free.

For 18 nights, the studio was a comfortable, good-value base. The property and rooms are well kept, and cleaning was thorough and on schedule. Food had a tasty, homestyle feel, with a customizable menu and off-menu requests; orders came quickly and the staff were accommodating. Service overall was quick and thorough. RAM was especially helpful in making the stay comfortable.

The Sri Lankan receptionist and a restaurant staff member were kind, respectful, and helpful, and I appreciate how professionally they treated me. The rest of my solo stay, from 4th December to 8th December, was anxious and uncomfortable. I booked through a tourist agent in Sri Lanka and had specifically requested a studio. At check-in, I was told they were sold out and that I had been given a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment. I understand it was meant kindly, but the room felt far too large for me and made me uneasy on my own. There was a persistent musty smell, and visible mold on the bathroom walls. The atmosphere left me feeling unsafe and anxious through the night. I played hymns and called a few friends all night to manage the anxiety. When I tried explaining this to one of the Indian reception staff, they kept emphasizing the free upgrade instead of acknowledging how the room was affecting me. I didn't feel my concerns were taken seriously. On the first day, there was no hairdryer in the room. When I asked for one, the staff member who brought it searched through my cupboards as if I had been dishonest, which felt disrespectful and unnecessary. I was also charged 20 dirhams for a towel stained by my hair color, told the marks couldn't be removed, and then wasn't given the towel even after paying. That felt unfair and disappointing, especially as such stains are usually treatable with suitable cleaning products. These issues affected my stay, and I felt anxious instead of welcomed. I hope the feedback leads to better room conditions, guest comfort, and staff sensitivity, especially toward female solo travelers.
