Claridge Star Hotel

What stood out most was how welcoming everyone was, including the security guard in the parking lot. My room was spacious, and after I noticed I had accidentally booked a city view, they thoughtfully upgraded me to a sea-view room. Claridge Star Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah gave me a surprisingly good experience for a hotel that isn’t five-star. The service was excellent, I’d recommend it, and I plan to return.

The hotel itself is fine to stay in, but the guest rules and the attitude toward noise were unacceptable. I stayed one night and there was loud music throughout the night. When I called reception at 2am, they said that was normal and nothing could be done because of the disco party on the rooftop. They weren’t even concerned about lowering the volume. People pay for a calm place where they can sleep, at least at night. If the hotel cannot provide that because of its parties, guests should be warned about the amount of noise. The quilt was also very dirty and was only changed later, but I could overlook that. I can’t overlook being unable to sleep or the way my complaint was handled, which made all the other services feel useless.

The location is genuinely good, with a beautiful view of the see, but the stay had too many basic problems. The reception carpets were dirty, the bed linen was stained and smelly, and there was no shampoo or soap. Hot water was also unavailable in the evening and morning. The road outside was noisy, and shutting the small, non-panoramic windows didn’t help. They even ask money for that. The view and location were the only real positives.

The nightclub made sleeping impossible, even on the second floor. When I called reception, I was simply told to wait until 4am. That was the biggest problem with the stay. The room looked nice at first, but the bathroom leaked, the shower head couldn’t be moved, and the electrical hack in the bedside table looked dangerous. This was my worst hotel experience. Avoid this hotel at all cost.
