Grand Pj Hotel

The hotel needs major improvements, and it should seriously consider closing until those are made. Room service was nonexistent, the quality was extremely poor, and communication was very weak. It may cost less than other options, but that doesn't excuse the condition or service. If the owner doubts this account, they should stay here for one night themselves. A low price should not mean giving up basic standards, cleanliness, and proper service.

The only positive thing was that the room was clean. Otherwise, the broken sink tap, old furniture, and inaccurate booking-app photos were disappointing. There are 6 or 7 night clubs, 3 restaurants, and 1 spa playing music until 5AM, while the rooms are not soundproof. You can hear songs from all the nightclubs, so this is not a pleasant stay and isn't suitable if you need to get up early.

This is a very old-fashioned hotel asking for prices closer to what a modern hotel with amenities would charge. The room we booked as a suite smelled strongly of cigarettes and had no curtains. The rooms and bedding were dirty, the toilets were extremely dirty, and there was no water provided. Room service was awful, and it took about 10 calls before anyone came, usually after an hour. The night club made the environment even more unpleasant. It felt like a total waste of money.

The reception staff were not friendly, and this was the first place in RAK where our passports were kept during the stay. I had to ask to borrow mine temporarily and was required to return the key. Towels were another problem. We stayed seven days, but they were changed only twice, even though I asked more than three times in a day for fresh ones. The explanation was that there weren't enough towels. There were plenty of cockroaches in the room, and the bedsheets were never replaced. The service was terrible.
