Center Hotel Sharjah

The location is good and quiet, close to the river, and the rooms are spacious. The cleaning staff were nice and worked hard, while the management was helpful whenever needed. I also want to thank Osman for being kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I saw a cockroach that had apparently been there for two weeks. The breakfast was the biggest disappointment, with food that looked like frozen items simply warmed up.

The missing towels, lack of slippers, and broken minibar were minor issues to me. I understand that these things cost money and that the hotel may not have it, or may not want to spend more on comfort. But being kind and smiling costs nothing. It is a choice made in every interaction. I stayed for 20 nights, and from my very first encounter, the receptionist was extremely rude. He yelled at me and at other people while speaking on the phone at the reception desk, so I never felt welcome. I stayed calm and kept smiling, but his attitude continued throughout. I have travelled around the world for quite a while and rarely give low ratings, since one bad experience can be an exception. This was too much, though. I have never seen that level of unprofessionalism and rudeness in a hospitality business. I don't know his name, but I mean the older man, not the young man. His behaviour made the whole stay feel bad, even though other parts might otherwise have been decent.

For a 14-hour layover in Sharjah, this was a perfect business hotel. It has everything needed for either a short stay or a longer one, and I had no complaints. The main reason I chose it was the location, only 800 meters from the airport terminal. When do you actually get to walk from a hotel to the airport? If you're planning to stay inside the hotel, check the offer they email beforehand. The dinner buffet is excellent, and the offer can save you 50%.

The room at Center Hotel Sharjah was spacious, clean, and well looked after, with a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. The rates are very reasonable for what is provided. There is also a small breakfast buffet. It's basic, but enough to get the day started. I stayed for 9 days, and the reception team and other staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The hotel is in a working area rather than a very touristic one, but its location is practical, with the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization just a 2-3 minute walk away. A solid option for a longer stay in this part of Sharjah.
