Barracuda Beach Resort

The sea view from our balcony was beautiful, and the room felt much bigger than we expected. It was a really relaxing part of our staycation. We also had a great meal at Backwaters, their Kerala cuisine restaurant. The food was full of flavor and tasted genuinely authentic. Check-in was quick and easy, taking hardly around 10 minutes. The only thing that could have been better was the room setup at arrival. Basic items such as slippers and the dental kit were missing, so we had to ask for them. Apart from that small issue with the amenities, we had a lovely stay, with a great view and excellent food.

A very calm and soothing place, and I’d happily visit again. Our cabana had a lovely view and a really nice atmosphere. The barbecue pit was an added bonus, especially for a relaxing family staycation. The resort is pet-friendly too, and the staff were consistently quick, polite, and helpful while we were there.

The noise was the main reason we left after only one day, even though we had booked two nights. Indian music, singing, and dancing continued until 2:00 AM, and there was no privacy, which made the stay very uncomfortable. The hotel also didn’t suit our needs as Arab guests. The food was entirely Indian, most of the visitors were Indian, and we couldn’t find facilities or options that felt appropriate for us. With all due respect to everyone, the environment simply wasn’t a good fit. The service was extremely poor, basically zero service. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The new infinity pool is beautiful and makes a great spot to relax. We also really liked the spacious rooms and their pleasant lagoon views. This feels like a quiet escape from the crowds in Dubai and Sharjah, so it was a great recent getaway. One nearby treat is the pizza at Thunder Road. Don’t skip it. UAQ definitely has a hidden gem here.
