The shop staff were friendly and didn’t pressure me to buy anything, which I really appreciated. I ended up purchasing a few things and was happy with them. There’s a lot to look at around this lovely place, from expensive items to inexpensive souvenirs, and it was nice just walking around admiring how much effort had gone into setting up all the shops. I also went into a pricier store with beautiful bathing suits and beachwear.

VERY busy when we visited, with three ships in port. There’s a casino, bars, restaurants, jewelry stores, and souvenir shops. If you go a bit farther in, you’ll find some small local vendor shops too. A decent cruise port.

A great port to explore, with some lovely little restaurants nearby. I highly recommend it.

We only took a short stroll at the end of the day, but it was so enjoyable that we wished we’d planned to stay ashore longer. The tour boats are very close, and we could have taken a ferry or tour. Their prices seem quite similar to the ship excursions, while booking locally supports local operators and gives you more variety. It’s worth checking Google or Trip Advisor if you have time to plan, since the island is really interesting. Getting off the ship is easy, with a short walk along the long pier into the heart of St Johns. There are colourful streets, shops, bars, restaurants, tour boats of many sizes, lots of places to sit, plenty of photo opportunities, and an incredible amount of free WiFi. You can also rent ebikes and snorkeling gear ashore if you weren’t able to bring your own.

The shopping area is nice and compact, although many of the vendors carry the same merchandise. Haggling over the price is part of the experience, and most of the time you can get things for a little less. Front Street is another place to look for duty free items, and it’s worth visiting.
