The area was very quiet and the view was excellent. My standard room gave me no problems during the five days I stayed, and Nicholas was attentive and helpful throughout. It was my first visit to Antigua, where the narrow, poorly maintained streets made getting around a bit challenging.

The rooms were badly outdated, with appliances that looked about 20 years old and other things falling apart. Worse, there were roaches throughout the kitchen. Constant construction next door began at 6 AM, making sleep impossible. I only needed somewhere to sleep for two nights while working on a yacht all day, but after checking in I wanted to leave immediately. For the price I payed, it was far below what I expected. Even reaching the hotel meant driving over such horrible island roads that the rental car was nearly damaged, and I couldn’t understand the glowing reviews I’d read on priceline.com.

The manager at the Caribbean Inn charged my debit card for the room even though my conference had already paid for it. He had asked for the card only as security in case I damaged anything at checkout, but then charged the full room price. He refused to return the money. Please don’t stay at the Caribbean Inn, the owner/manager is very dishonest.

This place is overpriced and under-kept, and I wish I could erase the experience. The rooms were infested with roach, the furniture was dirty, the utensils weren’t properly washed, and there were no toiletries in the bathroom. Mr. Nicholas the manager was rude and obnoxious. I can’t understand how anyone rated this hotel five stars, unless those people never stayed there or were paid to write reviews. There’s nothing wonderful about it. Never again Ivan Nicholas!!! Hire people to help with the upkeep, because guests expect service for their money.

Nick and Petrona made my two weeks at the Caribbean Inn feel surprisingly homey, even though the time was chaotic. The staff were incredibly hospitable, and they gave me TLC services throughout my stay. Nick helped by making calls and running errands for me, and he was easy to talk to and always willing to help. Because of the team’s kindness, I was able to accomplish what I came to do without difficulty. I’m deeply grateful. Well done Nick, and well done Petrona.
