Cortsland Hotel

The hotel staff were kind and responsive, and the food was fantastic, especially the tasty Antiguan dishes that made me want seconds. The bedrooms were lovely, with AC and a beautiful bathroom for cleaning up after the beach. It’s also conveniently located near grocery stores, local restaurants, beaches, and the airport in St. John’s, Antigua. I’d visit again.

The spacious rooms had AC, and the staff were amazing. I really enjoyed the food and the hospitality, along with the rest of the experience. It was great.

The staff were nice, but that was about the only positive. I spent a few weeks dealing with problems, including a TV that didn’t work, no hot water, and repeated excuses about getting it fixed. The mosquito nets were ripped, and the window frames couldn’t be closed. A person drove a mowing machine around as if it were a toy, mowing the same area every day for no clear reason. The pool is extremely old and needs extensive repairs. Paint from the sides crumbled into the water, and stray dogs sometimes swim there, with stray dogs also all around the property. There was no menu, breakfast, or coffee. Whenever I went to the eating area, nobody was working, nobody was there, or staff only came back after 2pm. The toilet seat was broken and never repaired. Many students stayed outside the windows listening to music, partying, and drinking, so the nights were very loud most days. The property is close to a store, a movie theater, and the airport.

The Cortsland Hotel has a clean property, comfortable beds, and a relaxing lounge area that would work well for seminars or workshops. It’s also within walking distance of the Plaza and downtown if you want to go out for lunch or dinner. The staff and administration were very hospitable, and the housekeeping team went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean, and everyone I dealt with was great. I’d highly recommend this hotel for a vacation, conference, or long weekend in Antigua.
