The hosts are incredibly kind, and the place is very clean. I also enjoyed the nice bakery and homemade marmalade included with the free breakfast. Kitchen facilities are minimal, although the hosts helped by providing what they could. It’s a cheap, well-run option for budget travel, though it was a little hot in June but still bearable. The major problem is the noise. The rooms are right beside the main street, with cars loudly rushing past for 20 hours a day, and the windows block almost none of it. I ended up spending a whole day sleeping in the lounge to recover. If noise doesn’t bother you, maybe it’s worth 6/10. For 3€ more, a central, quiet single room with a kitchen might be better for getting proper sleep. Great effort and kind-hearted owners, though.

The owner is awesome, and the price and location mean you’ll probably be around like-minded travellers. It’s a small, no-frills hostel, but for the price it’s a fantastic little find. Enjoy your stay, and tell Aldo I SENT you! 😉

The price is the cheapest option in Berat, but the hostel needs some work. There was no heating when I stayed in January, the fridge was moldy, and I was given a dirty towel. The free breakfast advertised online didn’t exist, and the online price was lower than what I paid in person. It was also extremely difficult to find, until a stranger on the street showed me where it was.

The dorm and bathroom were cheap and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast food was good, but there was no tea or coffee, only sweet juice, which isn’t okay when you can’t drink tap water. The location has drawbacks too. It’s close to two busy roads, so it’s very noisy, and the dorms have no air conditioning, making them very hot. The kitchen wasn’t clean, although that may have been because of other guests. When the main tenant wasn’t there, the staff member on duty couldn’t speak English and couldn’t help us.

The place was clean and pleasant, and the host is a genuinely kind guy. Breakfast came with very fresh croissants and amazing jam. I’d happily recommend this hostel.
