Amara Hotel & Spa

The view was beautiful, the hotel was very clean, and the rooms were serviced every day with regular changes of towels and bed linen. The beach staff were especially friendly, while the food was decent but became somewhat repetitive. There was a check-in mistake, as we were given an occupied room twice. Thankfully, it was sorted out the following day and we received the room listed in our booking. I also felt that plastic cups in the restaurant looked out of place for the hotel’s standard. Apart from these smaller problems, it was a good stay.

The rooms and general cleanliness were not a problem, but almost everything else was unacceptable. This hotel does not come close to the standard I would expect from a 4-star property. The food was badly prepared and had no variety, with the same dishes appearing every day. The beach was also awful because the water was extremely dirty. People were eating, throwing rubbish into the sea, and spitting in the pool, which was disgusting. When it rained, we tried to use the spa or gym advertised by the hotel, but neither facility actually existed. We would never stay here again.

The staff were the highlight, from reception and housekeeping to the waiters and kitchen team. The rooms were nice, breakfast was reasonable, and the location was useful because it was near the main roads to the airport. Unfortunately, the beach crew tried to charge us €10 for a towel even though we were hotel guests. That led to an unpleasant conversation and nearly an argument in front of other people on the beach, which was completely unnecessary. Even so, the stay was very good overall, so I’m giving it five stars. Thank you, team Amara!

The hotel is new, the seafront position is convenient, and the beach is large enough and well suited to families with young children. My room had a sea view, a good amount of space, a nice bathroom, and comfortable, good-quality beds. The restaurant and food were the major disappointment. Meals were very basic and almost identical every day. For a family hotel, there should be more child-friendly choices such as pizza, fries, chocolate or vanilla pudding, and similar foods. Improve the food variety and this place could be top.
