Kamomil Hotel

The beach and sea were a real highlight, with fine sand and pleasantly warm water. There were waves at times, and they could bring sea plants onto the shore, which is part of the Adriatic’s natural character. The open buffet was delicious, and the seafood on the à la carte menu was especially good, both in taste and presentation. I have a sensitive stomach and had no trouble with the food. Our room was roomy and clean, with a lovely view of either the mountains or sea. Most days we came back to fresh towels and a spotless room. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout. Special thanks to Nicolas for being so friendly and putting in the effort. It was a wonderful holiday. If I get the chance, I’d happily return to this hotel. If you’re visiting Durrës for the first time, enjoy the nature and the sea, and get to know the lovely local people. Thanks for everything!

The restaurant had delicious seafood, and the staff were polite. The hotel sits right on the waterfront, with access to a private beach. I’d be glad to stay here again.

The dinner buffet changed each night, and the food was generally good. Breakfast and dinner were included in my booking, but drinks were a letdown. They only offered tap water, and the filtered water smelled bad. Even the bottled water seemed to have been refilled from the tap, so I’d avoid it. The restaurant staff were warm and friendly, though check-in was less pleasant. I booked a sea-view room with air conditioning for August 13-15, but the AC didn’t work. They moved me to a clean, comfortable room at the back and still charged the original rate, which didn’t feel fair. I’d check the room carefully before paying. The location on the beachfront was a plus, as were the included parking and beach umbrella. It was quiet during my stay, which I liked. Hotel Kamomil has promise, especially for its location and food, but the room change and drink quality need attention. Would I recommend it? Maybe, if you want a quiet beachfront stay and can live with some hassles. Just be careful about what you’re paying for.

The beach is right in front of the hotel, and the balcony has a great view. Rooms are spacious and clean, with enough room for luggage. They have TVs and good Wi-Fi, and the towels and bed linen were changed almost every day. The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. Prices at the hotel restaurant seemed low to me, with pizza and spaghetti at 5 euros each. There are two elevators, and other restaurants and bars are nearby. A bus stop close by has service to Durres if you want to see more of the area. I highly recommend the hotel and will definitely return!
