Vila Brais Hotel

Everything is close by since the hotel is right in the city centre. The person at reception was very helpful. Excellent hotel, highly recommend.

The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful, and breakfast was amazing. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the location is fantastic, near Albanian College Durrës, the amphitheatre, and Durrës's main Street. The beach is literally a five-minute walk.

The sister property Hotel Bleart farther into Durres lets you use its facilities for free. I went for a day and really enjoyed it: there’s a huge pool and poolside area right on the beach, with free loungers and an umbrella, plus a lovely pier bar. Brais was great value and very comfortable. I’d stay here again, though I’d probably choose Bleart next time for its facilities and beachfront location. My first impression was good. I was dropped at the cafe entrance, which was closed, but the manager quickly came around the corner and walked me to reception. The hotel sits on a little side street, but it’s less than five minutes to the beach, restaurants, and amenities. The beach itself was barely a beach, though. The manager was super helpful with great recommendations. My room was spacious, clean, and had a high ceiling and modern conveniences. The bathroom had cute antique-style taps and shower. There’s a nearby mosque, and you can hear singing from time to time, which was cool. The room was huge, with a comfortable king-size bed, international and USB sockets, a large desk with a plush chair, and a bathroom mirror with a makeup light and a nice shower. They left a large bottle of water on arrival and every day. Breakfast coffee was good, the waiter was lovely, and both the receptionist and cleaning lady were attentive and helpful. Check-in was super quick. There were some issues. My key card stopped working one day, so they lent me their actual metal key. Since I had the only key, they couldn’t get into my room to clean it. The TV was a huge smart TV, but I couldn’t get it working and its wires hung down. The toilet seat was broken, the air con was loud, and there were only shampoo toiletries. The kettle was broken, and management forgot when I asked them to fix it. There’s no gym, pool, or other amenities at this hotel. Breakfast was plentiful but not the freshest. The fruit was decaying every day, and on some days the buffet seemed to have been left from the day before. It was the same food every day.

Marvie, the general manager of the H, was really helpful with everything, from nightlife to places to visit. Thanks so much, and I hope to come back soon! The hotel is very well located between the middle of durazz town and the sea. My room was excellent, clean, and high quality. There’s a nice restaurant downstairs with good prices and lovely staff. Breakfast was huge, with waffles, pancakes, fruit, croissant, and plenty more. It was so fabulous I couldn’t eat anything afterward!
