The rooftop restaurant was amazing, but the hotel itself felt like a 3 star place, definitely not a 4 star. The rooms were clean, though outdated, and breakfast was very basic. Cappuccino costs extra. It’s simple and probably fine for a short stay of two nights, but I wouldn’t stay longer, especially if you have high expectations.

Breakfast was delicious, and the view from there was excellent. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the desk staff were very friendly.

The shower worked well, and the bed was comfortable with two pillow thicknesses. The staff were fine, with nothing particularly good or bad to report. But the room had a poor view from 219, no fridge, and the Wi-Fi only worked if I stood by the door. The sockets were above the bed, and it looked like a double bed had once been split into two singles. The towels were badly frayed, and although there were four shampoos, there was no shower gel. Breakfast was ordinary; the view was its best part. Labels on the jams would help. Hotel Cajupi is centrally located and was okay for one night, though I wouldn't call it a four-star hotel.

The staff and service were very good, but the room fell below standard. The mattress was badly worn and the Wi-Fi didn't work. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Our room faced a wall at the back, which was a letdown. The hotel itself is smart and right in the town centre, close to shopping, though the walk up to the castle is a trek and still worth doing. Breakfast was good, with the first range of teas I'd come across in Albania, and the bar service was very good too.
