There’s a lot to like here: the workmanship, beautiful driveway, quality materials like sturdy doors and excellent windows, tasteful decor, and lovely pools that were too chilly to use but nice to look at. The air was clean and dust-free, the views stunning, and the hotel beautiful. The highlight was the staff. On the evening we arrived looking for a room, Mr. Alvaro had 101 requests going on in the busy dining room, but still showed us a room and persuaded ‚the big boss‘ to let us stay. After we visited the castle, he came speeding uphill in a van and kindly drove us the rest of the way up. He was attentive and helpful every time, always ‚on‘. Hotel guests clearly appreciate Mr. Alvaro, and he’s an asset to the place. We had an enormous, delicious breakfast both days. With the windows open, the view was breathtaking. Anes patiently explained the different dishes and paid close attention to what we wanted. I especially loved the rice pudding and yoghurt, the yoghurt was to die for! If your travels take you to Gjirokastra, why not stay above everyone else, like a king?

The hillside setting is hard to forget, with a wide view across Gjirokastër and a peaceful feel. I also loved the food: traditional Albanian dishes, full of regional flavor and made with care. The welcome felt sincere from the start, and the staff paid close attention throughout. A lovely place to unwind and enjoy Albanian hospitality.

That hilltop view over Gjirokastër is breathtaking, especially from this particular vantage point. The place feels peaceful and almost magical. We were welcomed warmly from the moment we arrived, and the service was both professional and attentive. The Albanian food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with traditional flavors in every meal. A memorable stay.

The pool overlooking Gjirokastër looks great in photos, but it's even more impressive in person. It’s a quiet spot away from the crowds, yet the old town is still an easy walk away. A good base for seeing the "City of Stone."

We had no issues at all. The staff were really helpful and friendly, and the resort has an amazing view. For what you get, the price feels like an incredible deal. Definitely recommend it.
