Chalet Ambel

The chalet was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with welcoming staff who were always ready to help. Breakfast was served personally each morning rather than set out as a buffet, which was a nice touch. The best part for me was the location directly across from the beach. I parked the car and didn’t use it for the whole holiday, since walking to the beach was so easy. Ambel Hotel/Chalets is a very relaxing choice, and I’d happily come back to this little corner of the Albanian Riviera.

The June price was very reasonable because it covered the room, breakfast, and a beach bed. Ambel Hotel also has a direct sea view, so the mornings felt especially nice. It’s a cozy, personal place with a relaxed atmosphere, a good alternative to the crowds and impersonal feeling of large hotels. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay.

The rooms were clean, and the toilets had recently been renovated. It’s at the end of the Main Street, close to the main shops and just across the road from the beach, with plenty of parking. Breakfast is the same set meal for everyone, with eggs, bread, and sausages. Juice is included, but coffee isn’t. The power went out three times, and the WiFi was very weak, which were my only real complaints. I’d still recommend the place.

The main course arrived before the salad and soup, and we waited more than 40 minutes even for the salad. One staff member was rude and unprofessional, insisting we had waited only 36 minutes as if that were a short time. The food quality was also very poor. Nothing seemed fresh. The grilled vegetables were dry and looked at least three days old, while the grilled shrimps were neither fresh nor warm and hadn’t been cleaned. The only reasons I’m giving one star are that they let me charge my phone and the rest of the staff were nice, even though they were rushing around. 0/10.
