Valta Hotel

The beach and sunbeds were well kept, the staff were very friendly, and there was plenty of delicious food to choose from. But at €221 per night for three nights, I expected more from the room. We stayed on the ground floor: the room itself was a 4/5, while the old, very small bathroom was a 0/5. After each shower it flooded, leaving a constant slipping hazard, and its fixtures were outdated. Privacy was another issue downstairs. The balcony couldn’t really be enjoyed, and two rectangular glass windows at the bottom of the door let us see into the hallway while people passing by could see into our room. I also think ground floor rooms should cost less than those on the upper floors.

We’d planned two nights, Sep 17 & 18, but left early the next morning and would have gone that night if we’d been able to. First, the e-key didn’t work for our room, so we had to move to a lower floor. Then the power went out three times in 30 minutes. The tap water at both the sink and toilet was brown. I noticed the sink turning brown just as I was about to brush my teeth. Reception offered no real help. The staff seemed indifferent, lazy, and distracted. The whole place felt abandoned, and the stay was nothing like we expected.

The scenery is lovely, with clear water, a beautiful beachfront, and charming cabanas. I also liked the hotel’s traditional stone design and the clean pool, which is good for families. The place gets crowded, though, especially at the pool and around meal times, so it loses some of its peaceful feel. Staff were polite, but service was slow and it seemed understaffed when busy. A decent choice for a short break if you want the views and can put up with waiting now and then.

We had such a lovely, calm stay with our little one. The rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious, and the beach was clean and inviting. Friendly staff too. Highly recommended! 🤍
