Hotel Panorama

There’s a really nice atmosphere here and the view over Kruje is very good. The menu has plenty of variety, although a few more appetisers and some air conditioning would improve it. I’d come back.

Aron looked after our dinner for 11 people and was absolutely amazing. He was fast, sweet, and did a great job getting all the food out. The dinner was delicious, and there was a lot of it. Breakfast each morning was also great, with our waiter constantly checking whether we were happy. The food and hotel room at Panorama hotel were excellent, the room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. We stayed almost a week and I’ll definitely return.

The view is amazing, and the service was the best I have received in Albania during the two weeks we have been here. Our server, Freddie, made several recommendations, which we followed, and the variety of food we tried was fantastic. I’m not sure whether Freddie is the correct spelling, but he deserves major kudos. We stopped after the bazaar and castle tour because we had heard the food was authentic and excellent, and we enjoyed the whole meal. I took one star from the food only because nothing is perfect, while the service and view could not be marked down. We’ll probably be back next year.

The terrace or balcony can offer great views of the town and castle, if there’s room, and that seemed to be the restaurant’s main strength. The food was mixed. Kofte were good while fresh, but became tasteless and unusually chewy once cold. The prices also felt a little inflated. A friend ordered the traditional stew with cheese and said it had very little meat and wasn’t especially impressive. The waiters were odd as well. I didn’t want to tip, but they apparently misunderstood and never brought back the change.
