Melesin Distillery

What stood out most was how the resort brings together local character and modern comfort. The building has impressive architecture and careful detailing, while the interior combines contemporary design with traditional décor. Red and black, the colors of the Albanian flag, give it a strong sense of place. The upper-floor rooms are spacious and thoughtfully arranged, including bathrooms with underfloor heating. Service is attentive and welcoming, and the restaurant serves excellent traditional Albanian cuisine. The drinks list includes three types of gin, three types of rakia, and two wines made from local grape varieties.

Lunch at this beautiful distillery was wonderful. The chicken with rice had loads of flavour and came in a generous portion. We were too full to order the dessert, even though we wanted some!

The appearance is appealing, but the taste was awful. Although the book presents it as an offer, it felt like a simple rip-off. For a below-average supermarket wine, it was far too expensive, and I can't recommend it at all. It might be useful for cooking, though.

At about 4.5€ per plate, the portions were disgustingly small for the price. You go to a restaurant to eat, and being treated this way feels insulting. I won't come back, so save yourself the experience and skip this place!
