The friendly staff and affordable rate weren’t enough to make this a satisfactory stay at Hotel Unik. The room had mold on the walls and in the bathroom tile grout, which is unacceptable even for a budget hotel and raises serious health and hygiene concerns. Our privacy was also violated. While we were away, the owner entered the room and left the door and windows open to “air it out.” That showed a complete lack of respect for us and our belongings, whatever the room price may be. Hotel Unik needs a complete renovation and changes to its management practices before I would consider staying again. I can’t recommend it in its current state, even to budget travelers.
