Villa Doka

The sea views from the room balconies and restaurant made both mornings and evenings feel special. Villa Doka is also handy for getting around, with the supermarket and bus station just a 2-3 minute walk away. We spent five lovely days here, and the cleanliness and warm welcome made it feel like home. Loly and Andrea, the couple who run the villa, are genuinely kind and positive. They even leave fresh flowers for guests. This was such a memorable stay, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

We were there for three nights and felt at home straight away. The villa was roomy, very clean, and nicely decorated, with a comfortable, slightly luxurious feel. Our host was kind and made sure we had what we needed. The location gave us privacy while still being convenient for nearby attractions. We enjoyed the whole stay and would happily return. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway.

After four nights with little proper sleep, we left before our booking ended. The room was extremely hot, and the walls let noise through from other rooms. The old AC didn't cool well. We had to choose between sweating through the night or running it at full blast directly across from the bed and waking up with a stiff neck and headache. We asked for it to be left on during the day, or switched on around 5-6 PM, but the hosts refused. Their offer was to run it for an hour while cleaning, with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. There was no real effort to sort this out, and no refund for the unused nights or apology. Cleaning happened daily, but they turned the AC off then too. We booked through Booking for August 9-16. The listing description and photos showed a sea view, but our room had none. They told us we'd needed to select a sea-view camera, then said they'd move us to one in two days. That never happened. Noise came through from the neighbors' bathroom next to the bedroom, including showers and toilet flushing, and the chickens outside started up in the morning. Ants were also wandering around the room despite the daily cleaning. The room and bathroom did look like the pictures. The hosts need to communicate better and take guests' needs seriously. Being asked "Is everything alright?" every day in a demanding tone didn't feel friendly. I can't recommend this place. Think twice if heat, noise, and rude staff would be a problem for you.

The beach is about a five-minute walk away, and the town center is an easy walk of around 40 minutes. The villa itself is peaceful and well located, close to everything. Our room was tidy and very clean, and breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious. Andrea and his wife made the stay feel like a real home. They were so welcoming, helpful, and kind, and created such a warm, family atmosphere. We're grateful for the time we spent here and the people we met. We'll definitely return, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for that home-like feeling. ❤️ Aliki&Adrian
