Granda Hotel

We only stayed one night while passing through, and the rooms were decent and well maintained. The area was the biggest problem: it was unpleasant and didn't feel safe. Getting to the hotel was difficult, there was hardly any room to unload the car, and the basement parking was very basic and tiny. Still, we'd rather use that than leave the car on the street. There was no dinner available during our stay, reception didn't seem very interested in helping, and breakfast was barely acceptable. But it was the surroundings that put us off most. We didn't feel safe.

The rate was good, and the area has a few restaurants nearby and sits on the way to the airport. The rooms are great, with a good view, and the sunset from the balcony is beautiful. Breakfast could be improved. There also isn't a place to work, like a lobby or restaurant.

The room 102 TV is in a good spot, and the pink toilet paper is a quirky touch. The area gets pretty busy, but I still slept fine. Really nice hotel, and I'd recommend it.

It's a little outside central Tirana, though taxis and buses are easy to find. There's a currency exchange next door and plenty of cafes, shops, and restaurants around. We stayed three nights and were really impressed: the room and bathroom were clean and spacious, and all the staff were very helpful.
