Fjortes Hotel

We were met by a room with the doors and windows open. When we closed them, we found out why they'd been left wide open: the room was dominated by the worst oniony sewer stench. The reception also struggled even with English, despite the hotel's claim that it speaks several languages. The hotel advertises a free Italian style breakfast included, but we were denied it. Check-out is very early, at 8.30 am. I wouldn't recommend this place. It felt like the staff knew how horrible the room smelled and assigned it to us anyway. 🤢🤢

A good, simple hotel at a very reasonable price. Without a booking, we got an agreement for less. The staff were pleasant, the room was clean and everything worked. Breakfast was cappuccino with a croissant. A big plus is the autobus station right in front of the hotel.

The room was super clean, with a comfortable bed, AC and TV. The shower had hot water and toiletries were supplied. It did smell of cigarettes, though. The hotel is on the outskirts of town, with not much around, and dining options on a Sunday are limited. In the morning they served toast, a meat and cheese sandwich, coffee and juice. It was filling enough to start my journey. At 11 pm I heard a strange, continuous knock on my door. When I didn't answer, someone eventually called my name. I finally replied, trying to pretend I was asleep. I was travelling alone as a woman in what had seemed to me a male dominated area. It was the hotel clerk, who said, “oh you're in there.” I said, “yes I am.” He didn't go away and called my name again, then said he was getting off work. I said, “Ok,” but he kept hanging around until finally saying he was leaving now. It was extremely disturbing and scary. I was alone in an unfamiliar place and had trouble sleeping the rest of the night. In the morning, when I asked why he had done that, he said the power had gone out. Honestly, he seemed nice enough, but it was totally uncalled for and left a really bad taste in my mouth. If you're alone, go somewhere else.

I was there last week and found a lot of bedbugs 🐜!! Be careful, double check your bed before you go to sleep.
