Hotel Gold

For our family, Hotel Gold worked really well as a break on our yearly drive south through Albania. The kids loved the pool across the road, and steps there led down to the water for a quick swim. It isn’t a sandy beach and the hotel doesn’t have direct beach access, but it was a handy way to relax by the coast. The nearby restaurant and pool complex was an added bonus. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the hotel felt modern and well looked after. It was also impressively affordable. The staff were welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was fresh, varied and delicious, with Albanian dishes as well as familiar continental options that suited adults and children alike. We didn’t eat other meals at the hotel restaurant, but enjoyed the well-stocked bar, which had reasonable prices and a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. We’d consider staying here again on our next trip through Vlorë.

The sea views make hotel gold a great place to visit. The rooms are roomy and luxurious, and the staff are polite, friendly and always ready to help. I’d recommend it again and again.

The restaurant deserves a special mention, the food was absolutely delicious. The whole place was spotless and well kept, and the staff were so welcoming and friendly, always happy to help.

The view was gorgeous, but the service and the rest of the stay were mediocre. We had paid in full for a suite, then while we were at a beach an hour away, the owner moved us out of our room. When we returned, another family was in it and our belongings had been taken out. Staff had packed our things and put them in a smaller room, not the one we’d paid for. We tried to tell the owner this wasn’t acceptable, but instead of taking responsibility, he yelled at us and said we shouldn’t complain because we still had a room. We had paid up front as requested, and they never returned the difference between the suite price and a regular two-bed room with no view. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially for a group of girls. It didn’t feel safe to us, and the owner and the woman managing the front desk seemed dishonest.
