Vila Oda e Miqve

We were surrounded by swarms of wasps at breakfast, so it was nearly impossible to eat in peace. Breakfast itself was awful, with hardly any choice beyond cheap packaged cookies, and the coffee tasted like water. When I got up slightly late one morning, the owner was actually angry with me for being late. The service felt very unprofessional. The location is isolated in the mountains. You need a car to get anywhere, and aggressive dogs in the area harass you. Parking is also a problem: there are too few spaces, cars block one another, and you may have to wake up early to let someone out. Our room was a huge disappointment. The beds were hard, the air conditioning was broken, there was no fridge or drinking water, barely any power outlets, and no view. The old towels felt like sandpaper. Only cold water came from the shower, so a warm shower wasn’t possible. Nothing that was promised was delivered. Poor facilities, poor service, and a terrible location. Save yourself the disappointment and book somewhere else.

The balcony view was gorgeous, and breakfast was really nice. The price was good, too. Getting there meant going up a ski slope, which was a bit of a downer, and there’s no lift for carrying 25kg of luggage up five flights of stairs. Accessibility: 0. There were ants in the room, and the shower needs a curtain between it and the toilet.

We had to check out four days early, before handing in the keys, because there was no water for two days. They said they had “forgotten” to turn it on. When I told the owner, he fixed it right away, but we had already booked out. We drove 16 hours each way, and this turned out to be the worst vacation we’ve ever had. We felt misled by the booking. On the first day, the hotel manager, the owner’s kid, approached us aggressively after being told that things weren’t like the pictures. When we reported broken things, he would nod and say he’d fix them, then do nothing. Service was a zero, though the owner himself seemed to give his best, was kind, and tried to help. I feel sorry for the hotel because the owner is trying, but his kids are ruining it. They’re around 25 years old. The hosts were egotistical, and this was our worst stay. I have photos of the driveway and broken items in the hotel. Avoid it if you want a quality holiday.

The rooms were spotless, and the people were so kind. Amazing service, plus a really fresh breakfast and coffee. Amazing hotel.
