Alaska Resort

Ordering food here was frustrating. We were asked to order ahead and come down to eat at the time we gave, since they don’t bring meals to the room, but the food still wasn’t ready then, so the time we meant to save was wasted. Staff also got orders wrong and then insisted that what they brought was what we’d asked for. They need to learn to take orders properly. They don’t speak English, and the owner backed the staff instead of correcting mistakes. An owner should support staff when they’re right and guide them when they’re wrong, while paying attention to what’s happening around them. If guests don’t matter to you, people won’t come back.

The resort has room to grow, with plenty of rooms and staff. It’s right by the road, has parking, and is only a short drive from the ski resort. Breakfast offers a good selection, though its 9 a.m. start felt late for anyone with an early schedule. I’d suggest making an iron available to guests who ask, at no extra cost, as is customary at other hotels. It would also help if all staff, not only reception, were a bit more welcoming. That’s just my opinion, but I think it could make the resort more appealing.

A quiet stay is easy here, and there’s free parking. You can play Russian billiards for 3,000 drams an hour or use the table tennis for free. There’s also the option to book a small standalone house. The hotel seems fairly new, perhaps one or two years old. Rooms were good and clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was ordinary but tasty. It isn’t close to the ski area or ropeway, though I think you can ask about a transfer or shuttle.

The food at Alaska resort was a real highlight for me. The dishes were tasty and nicely presented, and there seemed to be choices for different tastes. Staff gave the meal extra personal attention. They were kind throughout the stay and went out of their way to help. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a jacuzzi that worked perfectly and was lovely to relax in after a long day. There’s also a professional billiard table and a sauna for the family. I found the resort luxurious and relaxing, and my stay exceeded my expectations. I’d add an Xbox or PlayStation for guests to unwind with after a long day of walking or similar. There’s also supposed to be a swimming pool coming soon, which would make Alaska resort even better. I’d recommend it for business or leisure in Tsaghkadzor.
