Port Ayas Sevan Lake Hotel

We had a family stay in very comfortable rooms, with fresh, amazing food made at home using local ingredients. The property is peaceful and relaxing, with one of Lake Sevan's most beautiful beaches just a short walk away. It's a nice place to unwind, get together with family, have a team retreat, or hang out with friends around a lakeside fire. I wholeheartedly recommend it for making lasting memories with the people who matter most.

We stayed for about four days, and it was really worth it. The beach beside the hotel was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was pretty good. The location is a small drawback since shops and other things are far away. It's a really good place if you love nature and want to relax.

The stray dogs can be a problem, though some people may like having them around. Staff seemed a little confused at times, and the kitchen was a bit slow, but I guess that's part of the charm. The rooms could get pretty hot at night and could use air conditioning. The houses would also benefit from better kitchens, so bring food if you're staying a few days because there are no groceries within a 15 minute radius. Otherwise, everything was fine and we enjoyed our stay. Decent for Armenia.

The rooms were clean and the linens were good, and the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. But what happened with the room was a nightmare. I'd booked an entire room with a private bathroom, then arrived to find they were offering us four beds in a shared hostel room with no bathroom. Be sure to confirm exactly what you've booked and where you'll be staying. Having to argue when you've come to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle is the last thing you want. There are open areas around the property, and packs of stray dogs roam there. It wasn't pleasant to meet three big dogs while returning late from dinner with my child in my arms. My daughter was also afraid to walk around alone. On our last morning, they served cold, stale pancakes at breakfast and admitted they were left over from the day before. Pancakes are only served for breakfast here, so you can only wonder how long they'd been sitting around and why whoever ordered them yesterday hadn't eaten them. For a place called a restaurant with prices to match, that's not what you'd expect.
