The rooms were dirty, and some had fridges that didn’t work or no fridge at all. Towels had holes, and basic things like slippers, kettles, and cups were missing. On our first day, the shower broke. We reported it, but they wouldn’t repair it. The next day we needed our passports for something important, and they refused to return them. They demanded $1,000 for the shower. When we wouldn’t pay, they kept our passports, locked us out of our room with all our belongings inside, and wouldn’t change their position even though what they were doing was illegal.

We booked the suite with the jacuzzi tub, but after waiting three hours for hot water, we checked out. They also charged my card even though I’d paid cash. I had to insist they void that charge, and they returned only half of the cash. So I paid $75 for three hours in a room where the jacuzzi and hot water weren’t usable. It felt very shady, despite the hotel itself looking nice.

Getting our luggage upstairs was a terrible experience. My room was on the second floor, but after taking the lift to the first, there was another staircase to reach it. The place didn’t have the facilities I’d expect from a four-star hotel: no drinking water, glasses, coffee maker, or wardrobe in my room. I don’t understand why they didn’t provide basic things that would make guests feel welcome.

The night view from the hotel is amazing. The place was neat and clean, and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was very good, and the receptionist was especially kind and humble.
